PRESIDENT: SYLVIA ZHU

Heya! I’m Sylvia, a second-year from Trinity Hall. I’m super excited and extremely honoured to be taking over as the new President of this amazing society after serving as the publicity officer last year. What strikes me most about CUWES is really the incredible community behind it. I’ve been able to meet so many kind, friendly and inclusive engineers via CUWES and grow in this supportive learning environment. I look forward to working with the committee and collaborating with external partners to grow the community further and provide more support for members!

VICE PRESIDENT: AMANDA KANGAI

Hii, I’m Amanda, a second-year at Gonville & Caius college. I’m thrilled to be the new Vice President for CUWES. The society has such a positive vibe, and I’m excited to contribute to this – we are welcoming, encouraging, and a place for female and non-binary engineers to thrive, and unapologetically be their nerdy selves, without fear of any social judgement. Everyone is invited to the party, and I’m looking forward to seeing you there!

TREASURER: MEGAN WONG

Hi! I’m Megan, a first year at Queens’. I’ve met so many amazing people through CUWES events and learnt a lot from the talks. I am very excited to work with the team who makes all these things happen. As treasurer I’ll be supporting the rest of the committee with money :). Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hiya! I’m Leah, a second-year at Christ’s College. I’m thrilled to be the PR&Newsletter Officer for CUWES this year. This is a welcoming and inclusive community, and we are taking actions to make it even better. I’m looking forward to the year ahead working with the amazing team and keeping you updated with the upcoming events!

ACCESS & WELFARE OFFICER: ELIZABETH HAWKE

Hi, I’m Elizabeth, 3rd year (double time) at Sidney specialising in bio and info-y mech things! This is my second year with CUWES and I’m super excited to be continuing the work we’ve been up to from last year. Please reach out to me if you have any suggestions/complaints about the department as I can bring them at the CUED Diversity committee meetings – these can be related to accessibility, discrimination, welfare etc (this is the way we were able to successfully push for period products to be supplied). I am also very passionate about all things outreach and am in contact with the CUED outreach officer, so if you have any thoughts on that either please get in touch! Xxx

Hey everyone! I am Nicole, a second year at Girton. I always have enjoyed doing something creative outside of my work whether it is drawing or making things. I can’t wait to design content for you all.

Hello! I’m Roz (they/them), a 2nd year at Newnham. I’m so excited to design stuff for CUWES – I love art, knitting and making things. While most of my design skills go into making terrible stickers on redbubble, I can’t wait to make some more productive things.

Hi, I’m Sophia, a first year at Wolfson. I am so excited to join the CUWES committee as I have always thought that CUWES is a supportive and welcoming place since joining as a fresher. I also had great fun and made lots of friends in the CUWES events I was involved in. Can’t wait to work with everyone and organise some fun events together in the new academic year!

Hiya beautiful people! I’m Vivian (or Viv or Vivs or basically whatever you prefer), a first year at Queens’. I’m super psyched to be a part of the events team and I’m sure we’ll organize a bunch of fun events (and formals hopefully) in the new year.

Heyyy, I am Arzina (second-year at Medwards). I am super excited to get creative with the CUWES website and I’ll make sure to keep everyone updated with blog posts! I’m keen to meet the new CUWES family and work with an amazing committee for the next year

Hi! I’m Liz, a first-year at Jesus and I’m excited to be the new Outreach Officer for CUWES. I’m looking forward to organising events with the committee to welcome incoming freshers and to give current students the opportunity to encourage young women at home to engage with engineering!
